Meet Shelby....
Hi, I'm Shelby Levesque,
I was born and raised in beautiful York Beach, Maine. Today I live in another coastal town just a few miles away from where I grew up, in Wells, Maine.
I have always been profoundly connected to the living stories that unfold in the conversations and eyes of people that I meet. I marvel at how people can get through the worst of circumstances and somehow rise above it in spite of everything they have gone through. I am awe inspired by the heights to which I have seen people grow and amazed by what we as people can accomplish. The human spirit is nothing short of miraculous to me.
Becoming a Therapist
This passion to listen to the stories of others and help them get where they want to be led me to become a marriage and family therapist. I have a private practice that I run in the town where I grew up. Since that journey began, I have spent the past 18 years helping people to live a life that is beautifully connected with others, pushes beyond the boundaries of what they thought was possible, and become a force of nature that even they didn’t know they had inside of them.
It has been my humble privilege to witness the lives of others and to be a guide post that allows them to get where they want to be in their own lives.
To me, there is nothing more exhilarating than being along for the ride when someone finally reaches that lightbulb moment that makes them realize what they need to do in order to be in POSITIVE ALIGNMENT WITH WHO THEY WERE MEANT TO BE.
Living, Loving, and Leading by Example
One thing I live by is ACTUALLY practicing what I preach! One of the things I teach and believe in the MOST is how important it is to HAVE FUN and make time for the things that bring you JOY.
That said, when I am not busy helping to make dreams a reality for people like YOU, I love being outdoors! I love the sun and being by a body of water, and the coast of Maine has some of the BEST beaches on the east coast! So, I'm usually there in the summer months and skiing our beautiful New England Mountains in the winter. I love cuddling my two boys, Max and Bennett, and making them squeal and laugh out loud with deep belly laughter! I also love spending time with my absolute best friend of 21 years and father of my children, Nick. I can often be found watching old re-runs of The Office or the Gilmore Girls.
Beyond that, I truly believe I was put on this planet to help people grow and master the art of connection in their relationships. And so, working with people like you brings me some of the greatest joy I could possibly aim to experience.
Creating a Ripple
For the past several years a feeling has been growing deep inside of me. That feeling said “do something MORE.”
I thought, “What if I could touch more than one life at a time? What if I could create a ripple effect and touch many lives? What if I could help other people be part of that wave of lives helping other lives to grow?” That feeling kept growing until I just couldn’t keep it inside any longer!
That burning desire gave birth to Connections Rising, the very place you see before you today.
When we are connected we are stronger. We go farther, run faster, and fly higher than we ever could alone. Connections Rising is a home of like-minded souls pushing other souls to be more than we could apart.
